The Silver Sun

The Silver Sun

And the weight of this has been crushing me
Your useless eyes don’t tell me a thing
But they drew me in

How could anyone honestly say
Things would be better off this way?

I was water
You were knives
I was heart
You were lies
And together it all goes up in smoke
And nothing can change this which broke

You walk by and lean into the wall
Telling secrets that say nothing at all
Oh, if you could only speak
I would give you a sign

But sun and silver don’t mix
I burn to ash in the heat of it
I smoulder slow
And you let go

Oh, I’ll say it here
You brought me to my knees.
