Star Rising

An expression about facing and embracing the shadow, the pain in our hearts:

Star Rising

Artfully we draw ourselves thin
We rest the hardship on our paper skin
Let us move into the night before the day
Instead of running today

Darkness falls, she calls for more
Attention, intention, she intimidates
But if you focus on the stars shining
You will become a star rising

I draw the pain on my skin
Life happens to me but I let it in
And feeling is what we’re designed for
So let the river run me down
Let it run me down

Darkness falls, she calls for more
Attention, intention, she intimidates
And my shadows cannot darken a shining star
For they were born to rise at night
And so shall I too
