A Song for The Soul (Heart Hope)

A Song for The Soul (Heart Hope)

Just a song.
How can one song sing to my soul so deeply? How can one song heal me? Yet it does, oh it does. Oh and I will sing this to my children and they will know that they are free.

Heart Hope by Oh Wonder

“They’re building towers that are high enough to see the clouds
But it don’t bother me
The elevators working overtime up and down
Yet it don’t bother me

Cos I need something more than everything
A higher self deep within
Cos I need something more than everything
A higher self, a higher self

And I know we need a little heart hope
I know we’ve gotta outgrow and feel a little heart hope

They’re building aeroplanes faster than the speed of light
Yet it don’t bother me
The endless cities multiplying ocean size
Yet it don’t bother me

Cos I need something more than everything
A higher self deep within
Cos I need something more than everything
A higher self, a higher self

And I know we need a little heart hope
I know we’ve gotta outgrow and feel a little heart hope
Cos there is something more than everything
So feel the love and let it in
Cos I know we need a little heart hope”

And when I die let them know that I did sing
And I let myself belong to my sins
And I wore an ocean’s worth of scars
Just to become the stars on their arms
And I thought I could handle it
But I don’t know if I can handle this

So I walk these streets with no hope to spare
No worries burden me more than the air
It’s an arrow pulsating, razor thin
But still there, deep and in

And I wondered if I ever could
Become what they asked of me
And when I fall I knew I would
Always fail to be
Whatever I’m supposed to become
Free was not one
Free was not won

Archers grow better with their aim
As the sun tends to contemplate
My breath and my right to live
My head and my light, sometimes dim
But Summer is soon and Spring is here
And maybe one day I won’t wake up in fear
Fear of failure
Fear of night
Fear of the other side
What’s beyond the veil, beyond the curtain
What’s the mystery that I’m yearning
This love I’m earning
